| 09/15/2015 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Clarify the fixtures being installed in classrooms 101 and 102 and the included restrooms; the callouts for the fixtures appear to be different for the two plumbing plans (PL111 and PL411) and the two riser diagrams. 2. The fixture drain serving an automatic clothes washer shall connect to a fixture branch that is at least 3 inches in diameter. Reference: Section 406.2, IPC 2012. 3. Provide automatic faucets for the restroom lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. 4. Provide tempered water for the restroom lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012. 5. Verify that the vents shown for the water closets located in the restrooms for classrooms 101 and 102 rise a minimum of 6" above the flood rims for the water closets prior to running horizontal or joining another vent. Reference: Sections 905.4 and 905.5, IPC 2012. 6. Provide accessible cleanouts in the island sink vent system to permit rodding of all portions of the vents located below the flood rim of the fixture. Reference: Section 916.3, IPC 2012. |
| 09/16/2015 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The City of Tucson did not adopt ASHRAE Standard 62.1 for ventilation calculations and the 2012 IMC only references the ASHRAE Standard for the purpose of calculating the system ventilation efficiency (Ev). Provide calculations to show that the ventilation system is sized in accordance with Section 403.3, IMC 2012; for HVAC systems serving multiple zones, see Section 403.3.2.3, IMC 2012. 2. Provide signage indicating the total equivalent length of the concealed dryer exhaust duct. Reference: Section 504.6.5, IMC 2012. 3. Revise the mechanical design as required to avoid using the egress corridor as a return air duct. Reference: Section 601.2, IMC 2012. 4. Verify that AC-2 has a duct smoke detector in the return air duct, upstream of any outside air connections. Reference: Section 606.2.1, IMC 2012. 5. Show that each air conditioning unit has a thermostatic control that provides for off-hour and set-back control, automatic shutdown and start-up control and, if the control does not require manual changeover from the heating and cooling modes, restricts set point overlap. Reference: Section C403.2.4, IECC 2012. |
