Water supply connections to beverage dispensers (e.g. coffee makers) shall be protected with backflow preventers conforming to ASSE 1022. Reference: Sections 608.16.1 and 608.16.10, IPC 2012. 4. Provide an air gap discharge for the potable clear water waste from the ice machine and the intermediate atmospheric vents of the ASSE 1022-listed backflow preventers. Reference: Section 802.1.3, IPC 2012. 5. Show that the floor drain used as an indirect receptor for condensate and the water heater temperature and pressure relief are capable of accepting the maximum discharge and are designed to prevent splashing or flooding. Reference: Section 802.3.1, IPC 2012. 6. Verify that all of the vents rise vertically to at least 6" above the flood rims of the fixtures they protect prior to running horizontally (e.g. the showers and floor drain). Reference: Section 905.4, IPC 2012. 7. If the specified water heater is not supplied with integral heat traps, provide heat traps on the supply and discharge piping. Reference: Section C404.4, IECC 2012. 8. If the specified water heater is not supplied with integral heat traps, provide 0.5" of insulation with a maximum conductivity of 0.27 BTU per inch/h F on the first 8 feet of supply and discharge piping.
