The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2012 International Residential Code with local amendments. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide two complete sets of revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval. General: 1. Provide minimum 3/32" lettering per Unified Development Code. Ensure all lettering is legible 2. Clarify the page numbering. There are two sheet numbered A.3 and two sheets numbered A.4. Sheet A.1: 3. Specify the location of building drain from new bathroom to existing sewer line, IBC 107.2. 4. Indicate the location of the overhead electric service line. 5. Indicate the location of the proposed 4 foot tall patio wall on the site plan. Sheet A.2: 6. Specify cement, fiber-cement, or glass-mat board backing in tub/shower enclosures, R307.2, R702.4.2. 7. Ceiling gypsum board must be either 5/8" or ½" sag resistant when applied to ceilings framed at 24" o/c, IRC table R702.3.5 footnote d. Framing Sheet: 8. The City of Tucson has adopted the 2012 International family of codes. As of 1/01/2013 all code references should refer to the currently adopted code or appeal must be made to the Building Official for alternate code use. Plumbing Sheet: 9. Specify the size of the existing water meter, the lowest available pressure and the diameter of the water supply line from the meter to the service entrance, P2903.7. The Tucson Water policy adopted 7/13/12 limits the maximum demand for a 5/8" water meter to 15 GPM; Reference Tables P2903.6 and P2903.6 (1), IRC 2012. 10. Revise notation for codes adopted by Pima County to City of Tucson. Mechanical Sheet: 11. Provide Manual J/S/D calculations for the forced air unit in accordance with M1401.3, M1601.1. 12. Show supply and return air ducts with a minimum R-8 insulation when located outside the thermal envelope, N1103.2.1.
