This letter reflects comments to be addressed. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2012 International Building Code and local amendments. Plans must be of sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature and extent of the work proposed, 102.2.1. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide two complete sets of revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval.

Sheets A4, A7, A9 and A10:
1. There are reference arrows indicated on the outside of the North and East sides of the building layout yet there are no exterior elevations provided and the reference refers to page x. Please clarify.

Sheet A7:
2. Please reconcile the location of exit signage with page E6. Reference the stock room and mezzanine areas.

Sheet A10:
3. Specify the height of the proposed rack and shelving, 107.2. Note, racking that exceeds six (6) feet in height will require anchoring details.

Sheet A17:
4. Clarify the location of the window next to the fire extinguisher as referenced with detail 11-A16.

Sheet A19:
5. Specify type and frequency of support for suspended slat ceiling.

Sheet S2.2:
6. Reconcile the weight of the roof top unit #2 with page M2. The structural page indicates the weight at 810 lbs and sheet M2 indicates 1334 lbs.

Sheet M3:
7. Please provide correct page reference to 'type 1 hood design'. The note refers to page M5 yet these details are located on sheet M6.

2. There are no private fixtures in this building; the term "private" for plumbing fixtures applies to fixtures that are located in a residence or apartment, non-public toilet rooms in hotels or motels, and are intended for the use of a family or an individual. Reference: Section 202, IPC 2012.
3. Appliances (e.g. beverage dispensers, ice makers, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2012.
4. Provide cleanouts for all horizontal drains (e.g. the combination waste and vent line running east-west and located between column lines 5 and 6; and the two combination waste and vent lines starting near column 9-B.6 and 11-B.6). The cleanouts shall be sized per Section 708.7, IPC 2012. Reference: Section 708.3.1, IPC 2012.
5. Provide cleanouts for all horizontal drains, located not greater than 100-feet apart, measured from the upstream entrance of the cleanout. Reference: Section 708.3.1, IPC 2012.
6. Clarify the sanitary isometric in the area of the scullery; it is not clear what is happening in that area. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
7. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.8, IPC 2012.
8. Show how the flow control device is to be installed below the floor level and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Reference: Section 1003.4.2, IPC 2012.
9. Clarify the size and the termination point of the vent for the flow control device. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012 and Section 1003.3.5, IPC 2012.
10. Provide developed lengths of the piping from the gas meter to each load. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2012.
11. Clarify the gas input to RTU-3 and to the generator. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2012.

TRANSMITTAL DATE: August 24, 2015

1. The building plan has been reviewed by Zoning Review Section but cannot approve the plan until all zoning comments or concerns have been addressed.

2. It appears that out door seating, see 731 Sheet A2 and a cart coral, see 730 Sheet A2 are proposed. These items will require a change to development package DP15-0097 as they will affect the vehicle parking calculations. This change will need to be approved prior to approval of the building plans.

3. Until the above comments have been addressed and all other PDSD review agencies have approved the building plans zoning cannot approve.
