08/10/2015 | CLAYTON TREVILLYAN | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | BUILDING PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS Date: 8-11-15 Activity: T15CM04162 2nd review Address: 2500 N. Rosemont Blvd Applicant: Joe Witte Previous Comment: 1. Provide minimum 3/32" lettering per Unified Development Code. Refer to schedules, details and keynote numbers on plan layouts. Note: The plan has been reprinted on larger paper but unfortunately this has negatively affected the scale of the drawings and there is still lettering that is smaller than 3/32". Please ensure that both the scale of the drawings and the lettering meet minimum standards. Previous Comment: 6. The proposed design will eliminate (2) smoke compartments for the second floor. Provide justification for this reduction to include square footage of refuge areas to accommodate the adjoining smoke compartments for both ambulatory and non-ambulatory persons, 407.5. Note: The calculation provided assumes that the entire corridor, gym and patient rooms would be available for refuge of the patients in the adjoining smoke compartment. This does not take into account for the beds, furniture and gym equipment that will already be in these spaces during an emergency situation or the minimum required egress path needed through these spaces. Furthermore, since beds may not be placed in front of doors, small areas in the corridor between patient rooms will not meet the minimum 30 square feet for a bed and other areas between doors may be larger than 30 square feet but not large enough to for two beds. Please provide an emergency plan with shaded areas of refuge for each occupant from the adjoining smoke compartment.
