Congress St Applicant: Repp Mclain Design This letter reflects comments to be addressed. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2012 International Building Code and local amendments. Plans must be of sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature and extent of the work proposed, 102.2.1. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide two complete sets of revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. Sheet A1.0: 1. Correct page references to section drawings. Page A3.0 has not been provided. 2. Please provide consistent information regarding which of the three mechanical units will be installed under this permit. Reconcile with structural and mechanical pages. Sheet S1.2: 3. Provide column footing sizes consistent with structural calculations. The structural calculations indicate larger footings for CF1, CF2, CF3 and CF4 than indicated on the foundation design. 4. Please include a masonry lintel schedule as indicated on detail 8-S4.0. Sheet S2.0: 5. Specify the size of the steel roof beam located at match line 4 as indicated on detail 4-S4.0. 6. Provide a roof joist schedule and define framing members J1 as referenced on roof framing plan. 7. Please define the connection method of roof beams B3 to support beams B1 and BF2. 8. Include a reference location on the foundation design for keynote 1. Sheet S4.0: 9. Clarify how the proposed continuous vertical reinforcement (as called out on the reinforcement schedule) will be maintained at each end of the new masonry wall on the south side of the building. Detail 10-S4.0 shows a beam pocket located at the ends of the wall that interrupts the reinforcement. Sheet S4.1: 10. Please provide consistent information regarding the size of the diagonal brace material for the steel frame. Page 58 of the structural calculations calls for 6x6x3/8 tube steel and detail 7-S4.1 indicates 5x5x3/8. 08/12/2015 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Detail A/P1.0 shows the vented fixture drains from the lavatories (P-1) terminating at the water closet vents (P-2). This results in the vent connections for the water closet being below the trap weir of the lavatories. Reference: Section 909.2, IPC 2012. 2. Clarify the specifications for WH-3 (complete with expansion tank and recirculating pump) shown on sheet M1.0. 3. Provide roof drainage and hydraulic scupper size calculations based on the 100-year hourly rainfall rate for Tucson, 3" per hour. Include the effect of any vertical walls that can divert rainfall onto the roof. Reference: Sections 1106.1, 1106.4, and 1108.3, IPC 2012. 4. Provide secondary (overflow) roof drainage.
