06/02/2015 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Clarify the orientation of the proposed building (i.e. the site plan does not agree with any of the building plans). Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
2. Clarify how the building drain is to connect to the existing building sewer; the plumbing plan indicates that the building drain exits the building nearly 32-feet west of the existing building sewer. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
3. Clarify the layout of the water supply from the water meter to the restroom and the water dispenser. Coordinate the plumbing plan with the water riser diagram in detail A/P1. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
4. The plumbing plan shows a hose bibb located at the corner of the building near the restroom with a ¾" water line extending away from the building. Where does this water line go? Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
5. Provide the minimum plumbing facilities required by Table 2902.1, IBC 2012, for storage occupancy (e.g. service sink).
6. Revise the water demand calculation using the fixture unit values for public fixtures, not private fixtures (e.g. a public lavatory = 2 wfu, a public tank-type water closet = 5 wfu). Hose bibbs and evaporative coolers have a continuous demand and are to be assigned a GPM demand and added to the demand determined for the plumbing fixtures. Reference: Sections E102.1 and E103.3 (2.1), IPC 2012.
7. Verify that Tucson Water will allow the use of a 5/8" water meter for a demand greater than 15 GPM.
8. Revise the water distribution system design criteria to provide a flow pressure of 15 PSI or the flow pressure prescribed by the fixture or appliance manufacturer, which ever is greater. Reference: Section 604.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
9. Verify that the pipe sizes called out for the water service and water distribution pipes will not result in water velocities greater than that recommended by the pipe manufacturer (e.g. limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for copper, PEX, or CPVC piping). Reference: Sections 303.2 and 604.3, IPC 2012.
10. Provide a 4" cleanout at the junction of the 3" building drain and the existing 4" building sewer. Reference: Sections 708.3.2 and 708.7, IPC 2012.
06/02/2015 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Reqs Change Show the location of the reduced pressure backflow assembly on the drawings. Reference: Chapter XXVII, Article V, Section 27-72, the Tucson Code, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/water/docs/backflow-ordinance.pdf.
