05/14/2015 | MARTIN BROWN | FIRE | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Occupant load appears to be calculated incorrectly. Mercantile portion of building should be calculated at a ratio of 1/30. Also, waiting area should be calculated realistically, as obviously more than 1 person per 100 square feet will be in this area. This may increase load to require 2 exits. If a 2nd exit is required, the door swing into the break room obstructs the exit. Cross reference actual load with requirements for rated corridors, emergency lighting, etc. Would also recommend door swings into Hall 101 swing in the direction of travel. |
05/22/2015 | RONALD BROWN | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | GENERAL 1. Please provide a building code analysis. 2. Please provide a site plan. SHEET A1 3. Change the occupancy group to mixed use, B/M, non-separated. 4. Rework the occupancy loads for these two uses. 5. Reaffirm toilet fixture cout and exit requirements. 6. Better change the D door going outside at the pharmacy office to an E door due to more tha 75' of common path of travel requirements. 7. The treatment rooms do not have a 3'-0" wide accessible entrance as required by ICC A117.1, Section 404.2.2. END OF REVIEW |
05/28/2015 | ROBERT SHERRY | WATER | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Show the location of the existing 2" water meter and the backflow preventer that serves this suite. 2. Provide the serial number of the existing 2" water meter that serves this suite. 3. If the existing 2" water meter serves more than just this suite, provide the total water demand that it serves. |
05/29/2015 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Provide automatic faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. 2. Provide tempered water for the restroom lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012. 3. Provide a shut off valve for appliances requiring maintenance (e.g. the vacuum pump). Reference: Section 606.2, IPC 2012. 4. Verify that the developed length of the hot water supply piping from the water heater to the furthest hot water outlet is not greater than fifty feet; if the developed length is greater than fifty feet, provide a method for maintaining the temperature of the hot water supply system. Reference: Section 607.2, IPC 2012. 5. Appliances (e.g. vacuum pumps) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2012. 6. Sizing pipes for water distribution systems using Appendix E, IPC 2012 is an accepted engineering method but Section E103.3 (2.1) of Appendix E, IPC 2012 states that fixture units cannot be used for constant use items such as hose bibbs or appliances. A separate demand value for the vacuum pump is to be added to the demand that was determined using fixture units. 7. Revise the water fixture units shown in the table on sheet P2 using the values shown in Table E103.3 (2), IPC 2012 for public-use plumbing fixtures. Determine the water supply demand for the sum of the water supply fixture units using Table E103.3 (3), IPC 2012. The water supply capacity for individual plumbing fixtures can be found in Table 604.3, IPC 2012. 8. Provide cleanouts for all horizontal drains; the cleanouts shall be sized per Section 708.7, IPC 2012. The 4" building drain does not appear to have a 4" cleanout. Reference: Sections 708.3.1 and 708.5, IPC 2012. |

05/29/2015 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Thermostats that are new or are being relocated shall comply with the capabilities required by Section C403.2.4, IECC 2012. 2. Provide ventilation calculations for each air conditioning unit. 3. Verify that the distribution of supply air from the HVAC units during the heating season complies with the requirements of footnote (g) of Table 403.3.1.2, IMC 2012 or use a zone air distribution effectiveness value of 0.8 for the ventilation calculations. Reference: Section 403.3.1.2, IMC 2012. 4. Ventilation calculations for HVAC systems supplying multiple zones shall take into account the different occupancy loads in each zone. Reference: Section 403.3.2.3, IMC 2012. 5. Revise the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted when the building is occupied (i.e. all air supplied to each restroom shall be exhausted even if the lights are turned off). Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012. 6. Provide a design for the air intake and air exhaust for the air compressor and the vacuum pump. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. |
