05/27/2015 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Use the exterior design conditions shown in Section 302.2, IECC 2012, as modified by the City of Tucson. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012.
2. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains for the roof top units. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2012 as amended by the City of Tucson.
3. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation using the current code. Reference: Section 403.2, IMC 2012.
4. Revise the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fan so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted (i.e. air supplied to the restrooms when the lights are off shall also be exhausted). Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012.
5. Provide general room exhaust for any cooking appliance that does not require the installation of a Type II hood. The minimum exhaust rate shall be 0.70 CFM per square foot, using a minimum area of 100 square feet for each individual appliance. Reference: Section 507.2.2, IMC 2012.
6. Provide structural calculations and details to show that the Type I hood is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2012 (the hood hanging weight plus the weight of personnel working in or on the hood). Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012.
7. Show that the Type I hood installation complies with Section 507.9, IMC 2012 with regard to a smooth, cleanable, non-absorbent, and non-combustible material installed between the hood and the wall, and extending 18" beyond the hood.
8. Provide the listing information for the pocket ovens and the deck oven; this information was not provided in the submitted documents. The equipment shall be listed and labeled by an approved, independent agency. Reference: Section 301.3, IFGC 2012.
9. Provide the listing information for the pot, pan, and utensil washer; this information was not provided in the submitted documents. The equipment shall be listed and labeled by an approved, independent agency. Reference: Section 301.7, IMC 2012.
05/27/2015 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Clarify the anticipated loads for each of the two "future" branches and coordinate the gas-fired appliances with the kitchen equipment plans (e.g. the deck oven does not indicate any gas requirement and there is no "Drago" oven shown on the kitchen equipment list on sheet Q102). Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2012.
2. Verify that the specified gas pressure regulators being installed indoors are equipped with and labeled for use with a vent-limiting device or show how the regulators are to be safely vented. Reference: Section 410.3, IFGC 2012.
3. Revise the civil site utility drawing. Show the location and size of both the water meter and the reduced pressure principle backflow preventer assembly. Show the location of the connection of the building sewer to the private sewer. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
4. Provide a direct connection to the building drainage system for all plumbing fixtures except as allowed by Chapter 8, IPC 2012. Reference: Section 301.3, IPC 2012.
5. Provide calculations showing how the PEX water supply tubing has been sized. Reference: Sections 604.1 and 604.3, IPC 201.
6. Determine the hot water demand for the building and verify that the specified water heater can supply sufficient hot water (i.e. water equal to or greater than 110 degrees Fahrenheit) to meet the calculated demand. Reference: Sections 303.2 and 607.1, IPC 2012.
7. Clarify the water heater detail 9/PE502; it appears as if the only output is for 110 degrees Fahrenheit water. Provide a specification for the proposed ASSE 1070-listed thermostatic mixing valve and verify that it is capable of accommodating the required hot water demand without excessive pressure drop. Reference: Sections 303.2 and 604.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
8. Appliances (e.g. ovens, ice makers, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2012.
9. Provide for sterilization and testing of the PEX domestic water system per Section 610, IPC 2012.
10. Clarify the "Waste Piping Load Count" table on sheet PE601. From which IPC Table were the IPC fixture units found? Hose bibbs, ice machines, and soda machines do not typically play a significant role in sizing waste piping systems. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
11. Provide sizing calculations for the gravity grease interceptor. Coordinate the size of the interceptor with the civil site plan. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
12. Clarify the termination point for the primary roof drain leader. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
05/27/2015 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Reqs Change Provide the size of the proposed water meter serving the domestic water requirements of the building and the total water demand for the water meter.
