03/24/2015 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Coordinate the location of the backflow preventer protecting the municipal water distribution system with the civil drawings; a new reduced pressure backflow prevention assembly is shown at the property line on the site utility drawing. Reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies are required to be installed in locations accessible to Tucson Water. Reference: Chapter XXVII, Article V, Section 27-72, the Tucson Code, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/water/docs/backflow-ordinance.pdf
2. Provide a design for the mounting shelf for the water heater. Show clearly how the platform is to be constructed and attached to the building structure. Reference: Section 301.2, IPC 2012.
3. Install the proposed vacuum relief valve for the water heater (detail 2/P2) per the manufacturer's listing information, i.e. with no valves located between the vacuum relief valve and the water heater. Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2012.
4. For the use of PEX tubing, provide a branch tube sizing chart showing the correct size of PEX tubing to be used as a substitute for the copper pipe shown on the drawings. Reference: Sections 303.2 and 604.3, IPC 2012.
5. Provide roof drainage and gutter size calculations based on the 100-year hourly rainfall rate for Tucson, 3" per hour. Reference: Sections 1106.1 and, 1106.6, IPC 2012.
03/25/2015 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope (e.g. revise the insulation note as required to agree with the insulation shown in the energy analysis, show the U-factor and SHGF for fenestration, etc.). Reference: Sections C103.2 and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
2. Provide NFRC fenestration product ratings for the U-factor and the SHGC values on COMcheck or use the appropriate default U-factor and SHGC values from Tables C303.1.3 (1), C303.1.3 (2) and C303.1.3.(3), IECC 2012. Reference: Section C303.1.3, IECC 2012. (Note: For site assembled commercial products, the NFRC component modeling approach program enables commercial window manufacturers to produce bid reports to prove energy performance prior to being awarded a job and provide finalized label certificates once the product has been installed. Fenestration performance reports based on AAMA 507 are based on energy simulations only (no actual testing) and are not acceptable.)
3. Show how the "Additional Efficiency Package Requirements" noted in Section C406, IECC 2012 is to be addressed. Reference: Section C401.2, IECC 2012.
4. Show that the proposed HVAC system meets the minimum efficiency, operational, and control requirements of Sections C403.2, C403.3 and, if neither the efficient lighting system nor the on-site renewable energy options are selected, C406.2, IECC 2012 (e.g. provide the mechanical energy code compliance certification from COMcheck). Reference: Section C303.1, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
5. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012.
6. Revise the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted (i.e. the exhaust fans shall run continuously while the HVAC system supplies air into the restrooms). Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012.
