This letter reflects comments to be addressed. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2012 International Codes and local amendments. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you provide two complete sets of revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. The City of Tucson has adopted the 2012 International family of codes. Correct all references to the 2006 codes on sheet a0.0 or appeal must be made to the Building Official for alternate code use. 2. All engineers and architects involved in the design of the structure are to seal the related sheets of plans, details and calculations in accordance with the rules of the State Board of Technical Registration. Provide sealed sheets for the electrical, plumbing and mechanical pages. 3. Provide a building code analysis including accessibility provisions. Accessible route has been specified but there is no indication if this is intended to be a Type A or Type B dwelling unit, IBC 1107. Note: If accessibility requirements apply to this project, ensure all provisions have been satisfied including but not limited to door sizes, reach ranges, turning radii, fixed cabinetry, plumbing fixtures and roll-in showers. 4. Provide a building key plan that shows the location of adjoining units, which floor this unit is located and exit egress. Note: Fire separation provisions may apply. 5. Clarify floor plan keynotes "LAV-1 through LAV-6" STRUCTURAL: 6. Clarify structural support of roof framing members for relocated interior walls, IBC 107.2.1. PLUMBING PLAN: 7. Specify the piping to all new and/or modified plumbing fixtures. 8. Provide note requiring that water hammer arrestor be installed in accordance with ASSE 1010-2004 on water lines serving appliances equipped with quick-closing valves to include but not limited to: clothes washers, dishwashers, and refrigerators, IPC 604.9. 9. Specify the size and location of the drain, vent and clean out for the relocated kitchen sink, 704, 906. 10. Provide a minimum 3 inch fixture branch for the clothes washer, 406.2. 11. Riser diagrams are required for plumbing systems in multiple story buildings for verification of DWV layout. MECHANICAL PLAN: 12. Indicate the size of duct and exhaust capacity of the proposed kitchen exhaust, IMC 505. ELECTRICAL PLAN: 13. Equipment containing overcurrent protection may not be located in closets, NEC 240.24 (D). 14. Protect extended branch circuits with combination type arc-fault circuit interrupters, or an AFCI type receptacle at the first outlet on the branch circuit, 210.12, 210.60, 406.4(D)4. 15. Specify tamper resistant receptacles per 406.4(D)5, 406.12, 250.52. 16.
