02/23/2015 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. This activity is the construction of a retail building, not a shell building. Provide the minimum plumbing facilities required by Table 2902.1 and Section 2902.2, IBC 2012, for mercantile occupancy (i.e. the "future" fixtures must be installed at this time). 2. Clarify the type of water closets to be installed; the specification calls out "gravity flush tank" but describes the fixtures as being "pressure assist flush with Solan flushmate valve". Table 604.3, IPC 2012 shows a minimum flow pressure of 20 PSI for water closets equipped with flushometer tanks but the water calculations call for a minimum residual pressure of only 15 PSI. Verify that the water closets will have adequate water pressure for proper operation. 3. The water calculations show a water supply pressure range of 34 to 41 PSI at the water meter but the design pressure is 37 PSI. Provide justification for using a pressure greater than the lowest pressure available. In addition, the pressure drop for a reduced pressure backflow assembly is greater than 8 PSI; verify the pressure drop for the assembly being installed. Reference: Sections 604.1 and 604.3, IPC 2012. 3. The water calculations show a water supply pressure range of 34 to 41 PSI at the water meter but the design pressure is 37 PSI. 02/23/2015 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Coordinate the energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope with the building drawings. The roof section shown on the drawing does not appear to have an R-1.1 continuous insulation layer. The General Notes on sheet A4.1 specifies a U-factor for the glazing that is significantly different from the U-factor noted on the envelope compliance analysis. Keynote 25 on sheet A2 indicates that the cavity insulation for all of the exterior walls will be R-23, not R-21. Reference: Sections C103.2 and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012. 2. Will the Janitor's room be ventilated? Reference: Section 401.2, IMC 2012. |
