07/14/2015 AROMERO4 PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Clarify how the new occupiable area for the canopy area has been determined. If you have ever waited for service under one of those canopies, you know it is an occupiable area (albeit not necessarily 100 square feet per person). Aside from the number of occupants, the fixture calculations are incorrect. Assuming 110 total people inn the B occupancy (55 of each sex), three water closets and 2 lavatories are required for each sex. [Initial comment: The number of required fixtures shown in Table 2902.1, IBC 2012 is based upon the minimum fixtures required for each person or fraction of the number of persons. Since fractional fixtures cannot be installed, fractional numbers for fixtures shall also be rounded up to the next whole number. Increase the number of required lavatories to 3 lavatories in each restroom. Reference: footnote (a), Table 2902.1, IBC 2012.]
2. See the new comment above. [Initial comment: No more than 50% of the required water closets in a restroom may be substituted with urinals. Reference: Section 419.2, IPC 2012.]
