The minimum driveway length for a carport is eighteen feet to the property line (UDC Section 6.4.5.C.2.b.1.a & b). 01. Comment: Proposed driveway length to the sidewalk is 4'. Proposed driveway length to the northeast street property line is 1'-0'. 02. COMMENT: Due to the additional height of the carport structure from 10 feet to 12 feet, a new DDO application and notification is required. In addition, the proposed or constructed vertical attachment does not comply with the Zoning Administrators determination. Prior to submittal of the DDO application a determination from the zoning administrator must be requested in order to use the proposed vertical attachment as depicted on the building plans. The current determination requires a horizontal structural connection that includes a minimum width of five (5) feet and supports 20 pounds of live load per square foot. The construction of the carport roof does not appear to provide the minimum 20 pound live load or horizontal connection. (Additional engineering or structural documentation may be required to demonstrate compliance.) If a determination for the vertical connection is provided by the Zoning Administrator, be sure to include a copy of the determination in the DDO package and if the determination includes parameters ensure that the parameters are made to the drawing, i.e. Upload, wind-load calculations etc. ************************************************************************************************** Previous TRANSMITTAL Date: December 5, 2014 Previous COMMENTS: the following comments are relative to an application for a Design Development Option (DDO) (UDC 3.11.1).
