At a minimum design flow rate of 25 GPM for a siphonic, flush-valve water closet, a 1" Type L copper pipe has a flow velocity of 9.7 FPS. Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2012. 4. The Watts model Cu7 double check valve is an obsolete product and does not have an ASSE listing. Provide a backflow protection device that is listed for the intended application. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.16.10, IPC 2012. 5. Appliances (e.g. ice makers, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2012 6. Provide the rim elevation of the next upstream sanitary manhole and the first floor elevation.
