The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2012 International Residential Code with local amendments. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide two complete sets of revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval. 1. The 6x10 cross beams specified are insufficient to support the proposed roof load, IBC 107.2. Please revise. 2. Specify the proposed support and wall connection of the 6x10 cross beams. 3. Please indicate the proposed connection of the 6x6 roof joists to the ridge and wall supporting them. 4. Alternate braced wall panels that incorporate holdown devices may be as narrow as 34" when the wall height is 10', Table R602.10.5. Please clarify how the 23" panels on the east side of the building will comply, R602.10.6.1. 5. At least one wall switch controlled light must be provided exterior doorways, E3903.3. Provide lighting at exterior doors on east side of building. 6. Provide Manual J/S calculations for the forced air unit in accordance with M1401.3.
