2. Verify that separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink are being provided to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.8, IPC 2012.
3. The mechanical specifications on PM20 show both an "interior" and"exterior" hydromechanical grease interceptor but the specifications are incomplete and the proposed location of the grease interceptor is not shown on the drawings. Clarify how the public sewer is to be protected from harmful discharges. (Note: the under floor plumbing plan, 3/P311, calls out a 4" grease waste line in room 113 which then transforms into a sanitary waste line.) Reference: Section 1003.1, IPC 2012.
4. Verify the temperature of the water discharged from the dishwasher; the maximum discharge temperature shall not exceed 140 degrees Fahrenheit unless approved cooling methods are to be employed prior to introducing the waste flow into the waste piping. Reference: Section 701.7, IPC 2012
5. A dishwasher may not discharge through a hydromechanical grease interceptor but it is required to discharge through a gravity grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
