10/10/2014 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Coordinate the natural gas loads for RTU-3 and RTU-4 as shown on P-1R with the mechanical schedules. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
2. Verify that the pipe sizes called out for the flush valves will not result in water velocities greater than that recommended by the pipe manufacturer (e.g. limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for copper piping). At a minimum design flow rate of 25 GPM for a siphonic, flush-valve water closet, a 1" Type L copper pipe has a flow velocity of 9.7 FPS. Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2012.
3. Verify that the specified faucet and mixing valve providing tempered water for the lavatories are listed as conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012.
4. Clarify the installation of the two trap primers located over the restrooms. The above-floor plumbing plan and detail 8/P-3 show the two units being individually connected to the 2" cold water supply to the restroom but the domestic water riser diagram shows the trap primers being connected to a dead-end branch from the 2" cold water supply to the restroom. Coordinate the drawings and verify that the installation conforms to the manufacturer's installation instructions. Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2012.
5. Direct water supply connections to coffee makers shall be protected with backflow preventers conforming to ASSE 1022. Reference: Section 608.16.10, IPC 2012.
10/10/2014 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum height of 3/32-inch (i.e. both upper and lower case fonts must be at least 3/32" high). Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
2. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project using the exterior design conditions shown in Section 302.2, IECC 2012, as modified by the City of Tucson. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012.
3. Provide the heating sections for RTU-5 and RTU-7 with a combustion efficiency of at least 80%. Reference: Section 403.2.3, IECC 2012.
4. Note P on the Rooftop Unit Schedule states that for indoor air quality, "0 PPM for start open 2000 PPM for full open". Clarify how this is justified when the minimum ventilation requirement based on the occupancy areas (i.e. CFM per square foot) is not related to the CO2 concentration in the space. Reference: Section 403.5, IMC 2012.
