| 09/16/2014 | KEN BROUILLETTE | FIRE | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Plans need to indicate the location of all existing and proposed fire hydrants, proposed FDC location and note what type of storage will be in the building. The height and method of storage (rack, etc) needs to be noted. If high-piled storage is going to be the type of storage, then additional requirements are necessary. |

| 09/25/2014 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The COMcheck Mechanical Compliance Certificate on sheet M3.0 is illegible. Either enlarge the image on the drawing or submit the document on 8.5"x 11" paper. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 2. Provide energy code compliance calculations (e.g. COMcheck) for the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation, the NFRC fenestration product ratings, and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections C103.2, C303.1.3 (1), C303.1.3 (2), and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012. 3. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012. 4. Describe the activities that occur in room 110 (Testing) that support using the same ventilation rate used for an office. Reference: Section 403.3, IMC 2012. 5. Units AC-1 and AC-2 supply multiple zones; determine the minimum required ventilation using Sections 403.3.2.3.1 through 403.3.2.3.4, IMC 2012. Since room 108 (Storage) uses air transferred from room 100 for its ventilation, include the ventilation for room 108 in the calculations. Verify that sufficient outside air is being taken in by the HVAC units to supply the minimum ventilation requirements. Reference: Sections 403.1, 403.2.2, and 403.3.2.3, IMC 2012. 6. Verify that the distribution of supply air from the HVAC units during the heating season complies with the requirements of footnote (g) of Table 403.3.1.2, IMC 2012 or use a zone air distribution effectiveness value of 0.8 for the ventilation calculations. Reference: Section 403.3.1.2, IMC 2012. |
