| 09/15/2014 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Revise the site location map to correctly show the project location; the map currently shows the restaurant on Grant Road. 2. Show the hand sink located in the prep area connected top the grease waste system (see sheet P2). Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2012. 3. Provide material standards (e.g. "NSF listed") for all plumbing fixtures being provided by others. Reference: Sections 303.4 and 402, IPC 2012. 4. Provide automatic faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. 5. Provide tempered water for the lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012. 6. The developed length of the hot water supply piping appears to be greater than fifty feet; provide a method for maintaining the temperature of the hot water supply system. Reference: Section 607.2, IPC 2012. 7. Provide a detail of the water heater installation, including the excess pressure relief, expansion tank, recirculation pump, and valves. Reference: Sections 503, 504, 606.1, 607.2, and 607.3, IPC 2012. 8. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection to an appliance (e.g. soda dispensers, ice makers, etc). Reference: Sections 608.1, 608.3, 608.16.1, and 608.16.10, IPC 2012. 9. Provide the rim elevation of the next upstream sanitary manhole and the first floor elevation. Determine the need for a backwater valve per Section 715.1, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. 10. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.8, IPC 2012. 11. Label the size of the gas pipe immediately down stream of the automatic shut off valve. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2012. 12. Specify the type of venting systems and the venting materials to be used for the proposed water heater. If the water heater is not to be installed with a direct vent, show how air for combustion, ventilation and dilution of flue gases is being supplied for the proposed water heater. Reference: Sections 304 and 503.1, IFGC 2012. |
| 09/16/2014 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Show that the new thermostats will comply with the capabilities required by Section C403.2.4, IECC 2012 (i.e. list the required capabilities for the new thermostats). 2. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Include the calculations for the area served by AC-3 in case the existing unit is to be replaced. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012. 3. HVAC system 2 on the Mechanical Compliance Certificate (AC-2) indicates that it will serve a humidity-controlled area. Show the equipment that will be used to maintain the humidity in the area for process requirements. Reference: Section C403.3.1, exception (2), IECC 2012. 4. Include AC-3 in the Mechanical Compliance Certificate in case the alternative is selected. Reference: Section C101.4.3, IECC 2012. 5. Clarify the alterations (if any) to the roof. If the roof cavity is exposed during construction, the roof cavity shall be filled with insulation. Detail 6/A2 calls out R-38 batt insulation but R-30 Batt insulation is called out in the remainder of the details and on the reflected ceiling plan. The IECC does not specify the required minimum insulation, just that the cavity be "filled with insulation"; clarify which R-value is to be used and where. Reference: Section C101.4.3, exception (3), IECC 2012. 6. Provide the dimensions, materials, gages, and operating parameters (e.g. exhaust CFM and static pressure) for the two new Type I hoods and for the new Type II hood. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 7. Specify the materials of construction for the make-up air ducts and the insulation for the make-up air ducts within 18" of the Type I hood. Flexible duct is combustible and may not be located within 18" of a Type I hood. Reference: Section 506.3.1.2, IMC 2012. 8. Show the sizes and locations of the cleanouts for the grease ducts. Reference: Sections 506.3.8 and 506.3.9, IMC 2012. 9. Show how the grease exhaust duct is to be enclosed (e.g. shaft or field-applied fire-resistive material). Reference: Section 506.3.11, IMC 2012 (note that there is no Section 506.6 in the 2012 IMC). 10. Verify that each proposed Type I hood is equipped to automatically start the hood exhaust fan when cooking operations commence. Reference: Section 507.2.1.1, IMC 2012. |
