Provide the minimum plumbing facilities required by Table 2902.1 and Section 2902.2, IBC 2012, for business occupancy (e.g. service sink, drinking fountain). 4. The fixture drain serving an automatic clothes washer shall connect to a fixture branch that is at least 3" in diameter. Reference: Section 406.2, IPC 2012. 5. Provide tempered water for the lavatories and public hand-washing sinks in restrooms using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012. 6. Provide pressure-absorbing devices for the water connections to appliances equipped with quick-acting or solenoid valves (e.g. clothes washers). Reference: Section 604.9, IPC 2012. 7. Reference: Section 607.2, IPC 2012. 8. Show how the water connections to each of the dental chairs are protected from backflow and cross contamination. 07/30/2014 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum of 3/32-inch. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 2. Clarify which rooftop heat pumps are actually existing and serving the suites being modified. The approved drawings of the building and the 2014 aerial photographs show only two existing heat pumps - records show that the heat pump you call AC-1 is a 5-ton unit and the heat pump you call AC-2 is a 4-ton unit. If AC-3 has not been installed with a permit, it will be treated as if it is a new unit and will have to meet the current code requirements. A cooling/heating load calculation will be required to justify its use, its placement on the roof will have to be structurally evaluated, and the unit will have to be added to the electrical design. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 3. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation using the current code. Reference: Section 403.2, IMC 2012. 4. Revise the mechanical design as required to avoid using the corridors as return air ducts. Reference: Section 601.2, IMC 2012. 5. Specify the minimum resistance (R-value) of the duct insulation to be used on this project. Reference: Section C403.2.7, IECC 2012. |
