1. Previous Comment: Clarify keynotes on sheets A0, A1, A2.
Notes 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 have no corresponding reference and the reference for keynote #3 suggests that the water meter is located next to the building. Clarify
2. Previous Comment: Provide minimum 3/32" lettering per Unified Development Code.
Sheets A0, A4, A5, DT1 and E1 all have lettering smaller than the minimum size required.
3. Previous Comment: Provide braced wall panels at new framed walls on top of existing masonry walls. The prescriptive width for braced wall panels is 48" in width, R403.1.6, R602.10.2.2.
The windows located in the front of this area do not allow for the minimum braced wall panel width to sufficiently resist lateral movement.
4. Previous Comment: Provide Manual J/S/D calculations for the forced air unit in accordance with M1401.3, M1601.1.
Manual J and D calculations have not been provided for review.
5. Previous Comment: The City of Tucson has adopted the 2012 International family of codes. As of 1/01/2013 all code references should refer to the currently adopted code or appeal must be made to the Building Official for alternate code use (2005 NEC, 2003 IRC).
6. Previous Comment: Correct all mislabeled code references.
7. Previous Comment: Designate the circuit number for each light fixture, receptacle, appliance, and equip disconnect on the electrical layout, E3703.5.
Circuit designation is required in order to verify that the minimum circuits required for kitchen, bath and laundry areas have been provided for, E3901.3, E3703.4, E3901.6, E3703.3, 3901.8
8. Previous Comment: All outlets specified in section E3902.12 shall be protected with combination-type arc-fault breakers (not just bedroom outlets).
The note provided on the plan does not meet the minimum requirement.
9. Previous Comment: Specify faceplate grounding per E4001.11.1.
10. Previous Comment: Specify tamper resistant receptacles per E4002.14.
11. Previous Comment: Show compliance with City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code with an approved lighting calculation in accordance with OLC 3.1.2. Include all exterior fixtures on the property in the calculations. Model plans should specify a minimum lot size for the proposed exterior lighting.
The calculation provided specifies that all exterior lighting fixtures have a maximum 200 lumen output capacity. Provide supporting documentation for the lighting fixtures that supports this data.
12. Previous Comment: Specify a "U" factor and solar heat gain coefficient of the windows and doors that meets or exceeds the requirements of N1102.1. The simplified prescribed energy value for climate zone 2B glazing is U=0.40 and skylights is U=0.65, the default SHGC is 0.25.
13. Previous Comment: Specify prescriptive insulation and fenestration values per Table N1102.1.1/R402.1.1 or submit justified analysis. Simplified prescribed energy values for climate zone 2B: ceilings=R-38.
