| 04/29/2014 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Replot the plumbing plans (P1.0, P1.1, P1.2, and P2.0) to make the backgrounds and lettering legible. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 2. Provide tempered water for the lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1, IPC 2012. 3. The specified backflow prevention device, Watts model 9BD, is not listed for ASSE 1022 as required for coffee machines or non-carbonated beverage dispensers. Reference: Section 608.16.10, IPC 2012. |
| 04/29/2014 | ROBERT SHERRY | WATER | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Coordinate the civil and plumbing plans with respect to the water service for the new kitchen. The civil plan (C3) shows a 1" service pipe connecting to an existing 3" water meter to serve the kitchen as compared to the plumbing plans which call for a new 1" meter, a 1-1/4" RPBP, and a 1-1/4" service pipe. |
| 04/30/2014 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Replot the mechanical plans (M1.0, M2.0, and M3.0) to make the backgrounds and lettering legible. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 2. Revise the font size used on the drawing M1.0 to a minimum height of 3/32-inch. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 3. Revise the Mechanical Notes on sheet M3.0 to reflect the current codes (e.g. notes 3, 4, 5, 6, and 11 cite incorrect section numbers). 4. The 2012 International Energy Compliance Code is the relevant energy code for this project. Revise the COMcheck mechanical compliance report shown on sheet M0.0 to reflect the correct code. Submit the report on 8.5" x 11" paper for legibility. Note that the mechanical design has been selected by the Architect as the method to be used to comply with the "Additional Efficiency Package Requirements" (C406, IECC 2012). 5. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012. 6. Verify the installation requirements of EF-3 and EF-4 (e.g. does a ceiling-mounted exhaust fan such as EF-3 really require a roof curb?). Reference: Section 304.1, IMC 2012. 7. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2012 as amended by the City of Tucson. 8. Revise the exhaust flow rate for the restroom exhaust fan, EF-4, so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012. 9. Verify the outside air balancing data for the rooftop heat pumps as shown in the air balance schedule. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 10. Clarify the size and type of exhaust duct for the hood served by EF-1. On sheet M1.0 it is a rectangular 24" x 24" grease duct with a field-applied grease duct enclosure but the shop drawing (M5.5) displays three separate choices for a 16" diameter factory-built, double-walled grease duct. Indicate the type and size of grease duct that will be employed. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 11. The proposed Type I hood is listed as a wall-type canopy hood; provide information that shows that the listing of the hood allows the wall behind the hood can have a 60" wide x 30" high opening (keynote 4, A-2.0) without adversely affecting the performance of the hood. |
