04/24/2014 ERIC NEWCOMB BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. SHEET G0.0; CODE ANALYSIS (PLUMBING FIXTURES): THE DRAWINGS INDICATE ONE DRINKING FOUNTAIN IS REQUIRED. TABLE 2902.1 INDICATES ONE DRINKING FOUNTAIN PER 1000 OCCUPANTS IS REQUIRED, THEREFORE TWO ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS PROJECT. VERIFY.
2. SHEET A0.2; ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS: ON THE SIDE WALL ELEVATION, A VERTICAL GRAB BAR MUST BE ADDED PER THE ICC/ANSI FIGURE 604.5.1.
3. SHEET A0.2: THE CITY OF TUCSON REQUIRES ALL LETTERING (UPPER AND LOWER CASE) TO BE A MINIMUM OF 3/32" IN HEIGHT. REVISE THE ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS VERBIAGE, TOILET ROOM SIGN VERBIAGE, AND THE OCCUPANCY LOAD CALCULATIONS.
4. SHEET A3.0; WALL TYPES 3 AND 4: PER THE IBC SECTION 1607.14, THE INTERIOR WALLS ABOVE 6' IN HEIGHT MUST BE ABLE TO RESIST A MINIMUM HORIZONTAL LOAD OF 5 PSF. VERIFY THESE WALLS MEET THAT CRITERIA, AND PROVIDE BRACING (PER THE STUD LIMITING TABLE) AS REQUIRED. INCLUDE THE BRACING SIZE, SPACING, AND CONNECTION TO THE TOP OF THE WALL AND TO THE STRUCTURE ABOVE (INCLUDING CONNECTOR SIZE AND QUANTITY).
5. GENERAL: PROVIDE WRITTEN RESPONSES TO ALL REVIEW COMMENTS.

05/01/2014 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Provide structural calculations for the mounting shelf for the water heater to show that the water heater will be safely supported from the building structure. Reference: Section 301.2, IPC 2012.
2. Provide tempered water for the lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012.
3. Provide the listing information for the proposed polyethylene pan for the water heater. Reference: Sections 303.4 and 504.7, IPC 2012.
4. Provide automatic faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
5. Section 604.1, IPC 2012 allows water distribution systems to be designed using accepted engineering methods. Provide the source of the method used to determine the water demand and size the water distribution system.
6. Verify that the pipe sizes called out for the water closet flush valves will not result in water velocities greater than that recommended by the pipe manufacturer (e.g. limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for copper tubing). At a minimum design flow rate of 25 GPM for a siphonic, flush-valve water closet, a 1" Type L copper pipe has a flow velocity of 9.7 FPS. Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2012.
7. Provide pressure-absorbing devices for the water connections to appliances equipped with quick-acting or solenoid valves. The pressure-absorbing devices shall conform to ASSE 1010; an air chamber (detail 2/P.3) is not acceptable. Install the pressure-absorbing devices per the manufacturer's instructions. Reference: Section 604.9, IPC 2012.
05/01/2014 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Show the size of the condensate drain pipes between RTU-2 and RTU-6. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2012.
2. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation using the current code. The calculations for rooftop units supplying multiple zones shall comply with Sections403.3.2.3, IMC 2012. Reference: Section 403.2, IMC 2012.
3. Revise the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fan so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted. The exhausted air from the restrooms may be recirculated to the building provided the recirculated exhaust is limited to no more than 10% of any subsequent supply air stream. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012.
4. Provide smoke detectors in the return air duct, upstream of any outside air connections, for rooftop units RTU-6 and RTU-12. Reference: Section 606.2.1, IMC 2012.
5. Demonstrate energy code compliance for the building envelope using calculations based on the current code. Reference: Sections C101.3, C101.5, and C103.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
6. Show how the "Additional Efficiency Package Requirements" noted in C406, IECC 2012 is to be addressed. Reference: Section C401.2.1, IECC 2012.
7. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012.
