04/25/2014 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Clarify the design basis for the natural gas piping. The boxed note on sheet PL101 calls for 2 PSIG service with a pressure reducing valve at the location of each appliance but the pipe sizes suggest that low pressure gas was supplied to the entire building. Reference: Section402.1, IFGC 2012.
2. Provide water supply isometrics. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
3. The two electric water heaters are mounted on platforms. Provide a design for the platforms along with structural calculations to show that the water heaters are safely supported. Reference: Section 301.2, IPC 2012.
4. Provide the specifications and listing information for the proposed gas-fired water heater, GFWH1 shown o sheet PL102. Reference: Sections 303.2 and 501.5, IPC 2012 and Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
5. Provide details for the installation of the three water heaters, including the excess pressure relief, expansion tank, vacuum relief or other anti-siphon device, safety pan, and valves. Reference: Sections 503, 504, 606.1, 607.2, and 607.3, IPC 2012.

7. Symmons does not list a current temperature mixing valve with the catalog number of 5-210-ck. Provide listing information for an approved device conforming to ASSE 1070 to deliver tempered water to the lavatories and public hand-washing sinks in restrooms. 8. Provide automatic faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
9. Provide calculations showing how the water supply piping has been sized. Reference: Sections 604.1 and 604.3, IPC 2012.
10. Verify that the pipe sizes called out for the flush valves will not result in water velocities greater than that recommended by the pipe manufacturer (e.g. limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for copper tubing). At a minimum design flow rate of 25 GPM for a siphonic, flush-valve water closet, a 1" Type L copper tube has a flow velocity of 9.7 FPS. Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2012.
11. Provide pressure-absorbing devices for the water connections to appliances equipped with quick-acting or solenoid valves. Reference: Section 604.9, IPC 2012.
12. The developed length of the hot water supply piping from EWH1to the furthest wash fountain it serves appears to be greater than fifty feet; provide a method for maintaining the temperature of the hot water supply system. Reference: Section 607.2, IPC 2012.
04/25/2014 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum height of 3/32-inch. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
2. The Mechanical Compliance Certificate on sheet M503 is not legible; revise the font size or submit the Mechanical Compliance Certificate separately on 8.5x11" sheets. Complete the Mechanical Compliance Certificate by checking the appropriate line items in Section 4, the Requirements Checklist. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
3. Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Verify that the calculated demand for the new plumbing fixtures (predominately a flush valve system) plus demand from the 52 evaporative coolers will not cause the total demand to exceed the allowable limit. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
05/05/2014 LEERAY HANLY ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1) City of Tucson Oudoor Lighting Code section 104.2.1 requires Lumen calculation on plans. There shall be documentation on the plans to demonstrate compliance with the lumen cap per Table 401.1, and which includes the following information:
a) Each exterior luminaire type with the lumens for that type, the quantity of each type and whether the luminaire is full cut-off or unshielded.
b)The total of full cut-off and unshielded lumens for the parcel.
c) A statement of the lighting area, the size of the permitted parcel, and the maximum allowed full cut-off and unshielded lumens.

2) City of Tucson requires a minimum font size of 3/32". Rework electrical detail sheets to meet this requirement (E401, E402, E403, E404 sheets)
