05/28/2014 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change The revised plumbing plan shows two vents that have been installed with what appears to be horizontal sections occurring prior to the vents rising at least 6" above the flood rims of the floor sink and the grease interceptor. In addition, it is not clear how the flow control device for the grease interceptor has been installed or the downstream vent for the grease interceptor. Reference: Sections 905.4, 1003.2, and 1003.9, IPC 2012. [Initial comment: The addition of the hydromechanical grease interceptor for the 3-compartment sink appears to have the 3-compartment sink directly-connected to the grease interceptor and the grease interceptor indirectly-connected to the sanitary drain system. In addition, the existing floor sink appears to be hidden by the new grease interceptor. The 3-compartment sink shall discharge indirectly using an air gap and the grease interceptor shall be directly-connected to the sanitary drain system. A downstream vent is required for the grease interceptor. Provide ready access to the floor sink. Clarify the installation of the grease interceptor. (Note that keynote #10 on sheet P-301 indicates that no plumbing work is to occur at the location of the 3-compartment sink.) Reference: Sections 802.1, 802.1.8, 802.3, and 1003.9, IPC 2012.]
