04/14/2014 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Clarify the plumbing code to be used for this activity. A bold note on sheet M1.1 refers to the 2012 UPC but the Project Data on sheet CS refers to the 2012 IPC. This review has been made using the 2012 IPC.
2. Provide water supply isometrics. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
3. Show how the temperature of the hot water supply to the public lavatories is controlled. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1, IPC 2012 and Section C404.3, IECC 2012.
4. Verify that an approved anti-siphon device (e.g. vacuum relief valve) has been provided for storage-type water heaters located above any fixture outlets. Reference: Section 504.1, IPC 2012.
5. Verify that the water distribution pipe sizes called out on sheet P1.2 coordinate with the pipe sizing chart shown on the same sheet. Reference: Section 604.1, IPC 2012.
6. Verify that the pipe sizes called out for the flush valves will not result in water velocities greater than that recommended by the pipe manufacturer (e.g. limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for copper piping). At a minimum design flow rate of 25 GPM for a siphonic, flush-valve water closet, a 3/4" Type L copper pipe has a flow velocity of 16.6 FPS. Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2012.
7. Appliances (e.g. soda dispensers, ice makers, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2012.
8. Clarify how the connection of the horizontal drain from restroom 108 to the existing 4" building drain is to be made using approved fittings. Reference: Sections 706.1 and 706.3, IPC 2012.
9. Provide cleanouts sized for the nominal size of pipes that they serve up to 4-inches (e.g. provide cleanouts at points where the horizontal drains transition form 2" to 3" or from 3" to 4"). Reference: Section 708.7, IPC 2012.
10. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.8, IPC 2012.
11. Provide indirect waste piping for the prep sink, 1-SK. Reference: Section 802.1, IPC 2012.
04/14/2014 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012.
2. Clarify how the restroom exhaust duct is to connect to the nearest existing chase. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
3. Provide structural details to show how the fan coil units are to be connected to the building structure. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012.
4. Provide maintenance access space for the in-line exhaust fan FF-3 in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. (Coordinate the equipment tags, "FF" and "EF".) Reference: Sections 304.1 and 306.1, IMC 2012, and Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
5. Show the size, routing, and termination of the overflow condensate drain for FC-3. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2012 as amended by the City of Tucson.
6. Show how the specified fan coil units are capable of maintaining a minimum temperature of 68 F in the interior spaces intended for occupancy on a design heating day (32 F). Reference: Sections 309.1 and 312.1, IMC 2012.
7. Revise the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fan so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted (i.e. the exhaust fan shall run whenever HVAC air is supplied to the restroom). The exhausted air from the restrooms shall be limited to no more than 10% of any subsequent supply air stream. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012.
8. Clarify the location of the exhaust termination for FF-3 (EF-3?) with regard to the building openings. Reference: Section 501.3.1, IMC 2012.
04/24/2014 LEERAY HANLY ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1) Verify there is emergency egress lighting for the exit discharge (exit to public way) per IBC 1006.1. Is this lighting included as part of the larger anchor building?

2) Errata, there are 9 type D luminairs while only 8 are listed in the lighting complinace certificate. This does not alter that the installation is code compliant.

3) Fault current calculations on pp E5.1 show 18,959 Amps availalble at panel C1, but panel is called out for full bracing at 14KAIC.
