04/02/2014 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Verify the total connected gas loads for AC unit 1 through 4; each unit is shown as having an input of 132 MBH on sheet MP-1 but sheet P-1 shows AC-4 with an input of 150 CFH and two other units with a total input of 400 CFH. Coordinate the drawings and indicate all of the required pipe sizes. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
2. Indicate the location of the indoor termination points for the combustion air ducts, the location and height of the outdoor termination points and the type of screening (e.g. 4x4 birdscreen) being used.
3. Show how air for combustion, ventilation and dilution of flue gases is being supplied for unit AC-4. Reference: Section 304, IFGC 2012.
4. Specify the type of venting systems, the venting materials to be used, and the sizes of the vent connectors and the common vent for the proposed AC units. Reference: Section 503.1, IFGC 2012.
5. Clarify the plumbing code to be used for this activity. The plumbing specifications on sheet P3 refer to the 2012 UPC but the Code analysis on sheet T1 refers to the 2012 IPC. This review has been made using the 2012 IPC.
6. Clarify the drain piping for fixture P7; on sheet P2, two fixture drains are shown (only one has a trap) whereas on sheet P1, there is no connection to the building drain shown. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
7. The water heater schedule on sheet MP1 calls out three 20-gallon electric water heaters but only two water heaters are shown on sheet P1 (only one is labeled). Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
8. Clarify the design intent for the two different water heater details (one gas-fired, one electric) shown on sheet P2. Their location is not indicated on sheet P1. The HW piping configuration is unclear on detail 1/P2 and the size of the HWR piping is questionable on detail 2/P2. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
9. Provide material standards for all plumbing fixtures being provided by others. Reference: Sections 303.4 and 402, IPC 2012.
10. Provide tempered water for the restroom lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. The specified mixing valve conforms to ASSE 1070 and ASSE 1016 but there are mixing valves (i.e. possible substitutions) that conform only to ASSE 1016. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012.
11. If the shower does not have a pre-fabricated receptor, provide details to show that the construction of the receptor complies with the requirements of Section 417.5.2, IPC 2012.
12. Provide shower control valves that comply with the requirements of Sections 424.3 and 424.5, IPC 2012.
13. Section 604.1, IPC 2012 allows water distribution systems to be designed using accepted engineering methods. Sizing pipes for water distribution systems using Section 610, UPC 2006 is an accepted engineering method only if it is used as presented in Sections 610.1 through 610.13, or Appendix A, UPC 2006. Use the water fixture units from Table 6-5 or Table A-2, UPC 2006, including Assembly fixture units where applicable. Provide the water pressure calculations.
14. Provide details showing how water is to be supplied to the "baptismal". Reference: Section 608.1, IPC 2012.
15. Clarify the hot water return piping for WH-2. A note adjacent to the "baptismal" on sheet P1 calls out the presence of a ½" HWR pipe but it does not appear to be anywhere other than in the wall.
16. Provide for sterilization and testing of the domestic water system per Section 610, IPC 2012.
17. Provide cleanouts sized for the pipe they serve, per Section 708.7, IPC 2012 (e.g. the 4" building drain). Reference: Sections 708.3.1 and 708.5, IPC 2012.
18. Verify that the roof drains used for the secondary (overflow) roof drainage system conform to ASME A112.6.4 0r ASME A112.3.1. Reference: Section 1102.6, IPC 2012.
04/02/2014 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Approved
04/03/2014 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Coordinate the energy code analysis for the building envelope and the building components shown on the drawing. The roof cavity insulation is noted on sheets A6.0, A6.1, A6.2, and A7 as having an R-value of R-30 or R-38 but the Envelope Compliance Certificate calls out R-36 cavity insulation. The glazing and doors are noted as having a U-value of 0.40 on A6.0 but on the Envelope Compliance Certificate shows no doors and the glazing has a U-value of 0.50. Reference: Section C303.1, IECC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
2. Show that the proposed HVAC system meets the requirements of Sections C403.2, C403.3 and, C406.2, IECC 2012. Reference: Section C303.1, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
3. Show the location of the temperature controls for AC-4. Reference: Section C403.2.4, IECC 2012.
4. The City of Tucson did not adopt ASHRAE Standard 62.1 for ventilation calculations and the 2012 IMC only references the ASHRAE Standard for the purpose of calculating the system ventilation efficiency (Ev). Provide calculations to show that the ventilation system is sized in accordance with Section 403.3, IMC 2012; for HVAC systems serving multiple zones (e.g. AC1-2), see Section 403.3.2.3, IMC 2012.
5. Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans to show that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted. The exhausted air from the restrooms shall be limited to no more than 10% of any subsequent supply air stream. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012.
6. Secure the refrigerant circuit access ports of the condensing units to prevent unauthorized access. Reference: Section 1101.10, IMC 2012.
04/14/2014 KEN VAN KARSEN ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change T14CM01441

1. Update code references on sheet E3 to version adopted by City of Tucson, 2011 NEC.

2. Provide complete panel schedule information. Notate the AIC rating of new circuit breakers shall be consistent with the panel board rating.

3. Provide a 2012 IECC (interior) lighting calculation: use ComCheck report, or Table C405.5.2(1) building area or (2) space-by-space for budget determination.

4. Show City of Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code (Ord #10963) compliance: The 75,000 lumen entry is not an appropriate valve for E3 areas (Table 401.1). The ordinance requires identification of each fixture type (both Full-Cut-Off and un-shielded); and fixture output based on a typical lamp lumen output at the maximum fixture wattage rating.
