| 03/10/2014 | JASON GREEN | ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Needs Review | DATE: March 10, 2014 SUBJECT: 402 E Blacklidge Dr- Photovoltaic system and electric upgrade to an existing structure TO: Robert Holt REVIEWERS: Jason Green, CFM ACTIVITY: T14CM01313 (Building Plan) and T14OT00270 (Floodplain Use Permit) SUMMARY: Engineering Division of Planning & Development Services Department has received and reviewed the Building Plan and Floodplain Use for the photovoltaic system for the above referenced property and does not recommend approval of the Building Plan or Floodplain Use Permit at this time. The subject property is located within a mapped City of Tucson Flood Hazard Area as shown on the Flood Hazard Maps associated with a tributary of the Flowing Wells Wash. Any improvements to the existing structure are considered a substantial improvement to an existing floodprone structure if the value of the new improvement is 50% or more than the assessed/appraised value of the existing structure. The following information is required in order to process the building plan and floodplain use permit: 1) Provide a cost estimate, prepared by a licensed contractor or professional construction estimator, for the photovoltaic system and electrical upgrade showing fair market value of the material and labor. Please refer to the relative portions of the Handbook for Arizona Communities on Floodplain Management and the National Flood Insurance Program for additional information. 2) Provide an assessed or appraised value of the existing single family. The assessed or appraised value is for the structure only (excluding land value). The assessed value can be provided by the latest assessment rolls of the county assessor prior to the improvements being started or from a licensed appraiser. 3) A telephone call to the applicant was placed on Friday, March 7, asking for this information in order for the ENG Section to process the permit and provide an approval. However as of end of business day on March 10, 2014 the information was not provided to this Department and the building plan and floodplain use permit have been denied until the required information is provided. GENERAL COMMENTS: Please provide a cost estimate and the assessed or appraised value of the structure that address the comments provided above. For expedited purposes once the information is provided ENG can approve both permits over the counter. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 837-4929.
