03/18/2014 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Reqs Change Provide the size of the existing water meter and verify the location of the meter. The location shown on the site plan appears to indicate that the water meter is downstream of the backflow preventer.
03/18/2014 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. The equipment schedule on sheet P3.1 calls out K-19 as an iced tea brewer with a double check valve for backflow protection. K-19 is actually a soda dispenser; revise the equipment schedule and verify the backflow protection device to be used. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2012.
2. Clarify note #3 for the equipment schedule on sheet P3.1. The note refers to a reduced pressure zone backflow assembly (RPZ) as a double check valve assembly (DCV) and vice versa. Reference: Section 608.1, IPC 2012.
3. According to the kitchen equipment schedule on sheet A11.0, appliance B-2, a wine cooler, requires an indirect waste connection. Show how the indirect waste requirement is to be accommodated.
4. Correct general note # 6 on sheet P1.1 to comply with Section 802.2, IPC 2012.
5. Revise fixture drain from the hand sink located between kitchen equipment numbers K-10 and K-18 on the waste and vent isometric to connect to the fixture drain of the existing floor sink as shown on the plumbing floor plan, P1.1. Reference: Section 910.1, IPC 2012.
6. Hand sinks in the kitchen are allowed to connect to the sanitary waste system instead of the grease waste system only if each sink has a sign posted above it stating, "HANDWASH SINK ONLY! NO FOOD PREPARATION OR DISHWASHING ALLOWED." Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
7. Provide roof drainage and hydraulic scupper size calculations based on the 100-year hourly rainfall rate for Tucson, 3" per hour. Provide dimensions for the roof scuppers and overflow scuppers. Reference: Sections 1106.1, 1106.4, and 1108.3, IPC 2012.
8. Correct the equipment tags on the gas schematic (sheet P4.1) to agree with the equipment layouts on sheets P1.1 and P2.1. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
9. Clarify the developed pipe lengths used to determine the size of the gas piping to each gas-fired appliance. Reference: Section 402.3, IFGC 2012.
10. Specify the insulation required for the recirculating hot water piping. Reference: Section C404.5, IECC 2012.
11. Provide balancing data for the two hot water recirculation circuits (i.e. how many GPM per recirculating circuit). Reference: Section C404.6, IECC 2012 and Sectio607.2, IPC 2012.
12. A lined water heater with a nominal water containing capacity greater than 120 gallons is considered a boiler and shall be installed in compliance with Section R20-5-404. (Standards for Boilers, Lined Hot Water Heaters and Pressure Vessels) of the Arizona Administrative Code.

03/24/2014 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Provide energy code compliance calculations for the addition to the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include the U-factors and SHGF values of the fenestration components (doors and windows). Reference: Sections C101.4.3, C101.5, C103.2 and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
2. As noted in the COMcheck Mechanical Compliance Certificate, full compliance with Section 406, IECC 2012 requires the selection of an additional efficiency package. The plans however do not indicate that such a selection has been made. Reference: Section C401.2, IECC 2012.
3. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012.
4. According to the mechanical compliance certificate, the mechanical system will be required to "meet the commissioning and completion requirements in Section C408.2." If so, provide a copy of the commissioning plan with the next submittal. Reference: Section C408.2.1, IECC 2012.
5. Provide structural calculations to verify that the new roof is capable of supporting the point load of the roof top unit. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012
6. The City of Tucson did not adopt ASHRAE Standard 62.1 for ventilation calculations and the 2012 IMC only references the ASHRAE Standard for the purpose of calculating the system ventilation efficiency (Ev). Provide calculations to show that the ventilation system is sized in accordance with Section 403.3, IMC 2012; for HVAC systems serving multiple zones (e.g. AC-1), see Section 403.3.2.3, IMC 2012.
7. Revise the occupant densities for the ventilation calculations in accordance with Table 403.3, IMC 2012 (e.g. Bar-dining: 100P/1000SF, Dining: 70P/1000SF). Note that these occupant densities are lower than the exiting requirements for the rooms.
