Cherry Ave Applicant: David Basila This letter reflects comments to be addressed. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2012 International Residential Code with local amendments. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide two complete sets of revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval. MECHANICAL PLAN: Previous comment: Provide Manual J/S/D calculations for the forced air unit in accordance with M1401.3, M1601.1. Construction type must be either 'tight' or 'semi-tight' on Manual J calculations for all new construction. Revise calculations accordingly. INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE: Previous comment: Specify insulation material that will provide R-19 in a 2x4 wall cavity and R-38 in a 2x10 roof cavity. Compressing fiberglass insulation will reduce the R-factor of the material. Provide an insulation material that will have a full R-38 in the space provided or increase the rafter size to accommodate the insulation material.
