01/17/2014 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. The Equipment List, sheet A2, calls for a minimum inlet pressure of 7" WG for appliance #16, the charbroiler. Southwest Gas, the local gas utility, provides natural gas at 7" WG, 2 PSIG, and 5 PSIG. Appliances needing gas service at 7" WG or greater will require a gas meter that delivers at least 2 PSIG gas into a regulator located after the meter set. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2012.
2. Clarify the connected loads or input ratings for each appliance. On the Gas Equipment Schedule, the wok is shown as having a load of 360 CFH and an input of 240,000 BTUH but for the remainder of the appliances, the CFH loads equal the BTUH inputs. On the Equipment List, sheet A2, appliance #16, the charbroiler, is shown with an input of only 108,000 BTUH compared to the 120,000 BTUH shown on the Gas Equipment Schedule. (Southwest Gas, the local gas utility provides natural gas with an energy content of approximately 1,000 BTU per cubic foot.) Reference: Section 402.2, IFGC 2012.
3. Show how the natural gas pipe sizes were determined. Reference: Section 402.3, IFGC 2012.
4. Existing equipment #33 is shown on the architectural and plumbing sheets but is not identified. Is it a prep sink? Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
5. The specified backflow prevention device, Watts model 7, is not listed for ASSE 1022 as required for coffee machines or non-carbonated beverage dispensers. Reference: Section 608.16.10, IPC 2012.
6. Clarify the backflow preventer to be used for the bag-in-box soda rack. The water plan shows a reduced pressure backflow preventer (F), ASSE 1013, being required but the equipment schedule calls for a dual check valve, ASSE 1024.
