01/17/2014 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Clarify the plumbing code to be used for this activity. The Plumbing General Notes on sheet P-1 refer to the UPC but the water fixture unit analysis on sheet P-1 does not appear to be from the 2012 IPC. This review has been made using the 2012 IPC. 2. The plumbing drawing does not show the installation of any water piping for this phase of construction and the water calculation notes are apparently from a different project. Either remove the incorrect calculations or correct them; show only the work that will be part of this phase of construction. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 3. If the installation of water service is part of this phase of construction, revise the site plan on sheet T-1 to show the pipe size for the water service to each building and specify the materials to be used. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012 and Section 605.3, IPC 2012. 4. If the installation of water service is part of this phase of construction, provide the size of the water meters and backflow preventers serving these buildings. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 5. Show the pipe size, inverts, and slopes for the building sewers, the pipe sizes of the public sanitary sewers and the invert and rim elevations of all manholes and cleanouts. Show the Pima County Wastewater Management Department (PCWMD) reference number for each public manhole or cleanout. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 6. Provide the first floor elevation for each building. Where the first floor elevation is less than 12 inches above the elevation of the next upstream manhole in the public sewer or private sewer collection system, a backwater valve shall be installed in the building drain or branch of the building drain serving that floor. Floors discharging from above that reference point shall not discharge through the backwater valve. Reference: Section 715.1, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. 7. Specify the materials to be used for the drainage piping and fittings. Reference: Section 702, IPC 2012. 8. The fixture branch or stack for a standpipe and fixture drain serving an automatic clothes washer shall be at least 3" in diameter. Reference: Section 406.2, IPC 2012. 9. Provide a floor drain (minimum size shall be 3") for the central clothes washing facilities per Section 412.4, IPC 2012. 10. An approved 2-way cleanout fitting is allowed to be used at the junction of a building drain and a building sewer; otherwise, cleanouts shall open to allow cleaning in the direction of flow (i.e. one-way cleanouts). Reference: Sections 708.3.5 and 708.5, IPC 2012. |
