PROJECT: T13SA00050
825 E University Blvd.
Proposed: CVS Pharmacy
Sign Review

TRANSMITTAL DATE: March 5, 2013

COMMENTS:

1. Zoning has reviewed the sign documents and has determined that the proposed signs and locations do not affect any zoning requirements. All proposed signs appear to be above existing canopies and on existing walls. The signs do not appear to affect sight visibility and do not affect pedestrian access.

The property is Zoned HC-3. A historic review and approval is required in addition to signage approval.

( X ) No Objection - Can be supported but defer to the HPZ Review process for actual preservation review and recommendation.

The CVS Pharmacy sign package appears to be in keeping with the promotion of the preservation and enhancement of Tucson's historic architecture and applicable rehabilitation standards. These Plans call out that signs be integrated into the overall design of the project in a manner sensitive to the historic district. Note that the project is within the Main Gate UOD which calls out that the use of color should be compatible with the historic traditions of the University of Arizona, City of Tucson, and adjacent historic neighborhoods. Accent colors should be used consistently throughout the building: in signage, and architectural features.
