06/18/2014 | JOSE ORTIZ | DOT TRAFFIC | REVIEW | Approv-Cond | PLANS # i-2013-016 ACTIVITY NUMBER: T13PI00019 PROJECT NAME: Cantera S Phase 73-142 PROJECT ADDRESS: Benson Hwy & Alvernon Wy PROJECT REVIEWER: Matthew Geweke, Traffic Eng. Tech Resubmittal Required: Traffic Engineering does not recommend approval of the PIA Plan; therefore a revised PIA Plan is required for re-submittal. The following items must be revised or added to the plan. Please include a response letter with the next submittal that states how all comments have been addressed and resubmit the original redline set of plans for back checking purposes. See redlines on the submitted drawing Shts. 12, 13, 14, 18 to address these comments. Sht. 12: - Please do not add STOP signs to the internal non-arterial intersections. - Please use Striping Standard 6-4 to create proper signing & striping for the beacon pedestrian crossing; Give proper distance to W11-2 signs from the leg of crosswalk. Make sure WS8 placement and lengths are correct. - Remove the superfluous/confusing measurements and markings. - Do provide proper lane widths (and lengths when needed), also use the proper stripe nomenclatures. - The 9-R9-3a signs are an option if you feel they are necessary for this install. (if so, please see red-line comment and add median sign at Sta 58+50 +/-) - If Sta 63+50 is a bus stop (present or planned), please see redline comment. - Please use the right turn traffic island Striping Standard 5-16 & Signing Standard 9-5b for N-bound Alvernon Wy at Sta 68+00 - Suggest showing the R10-23 signs on the Signing Sht. (a courtesy to the sign contractor) - Take care to research which larger signs do require double posts, and note the correct configuration for color and size of signs. This will help prevent sign manufacture confusion. Sht 13: - Nice detail for the future sign 'and post' removal. (yes, you do need to tell them to remove the post please) Sht 14: Suggest adding street name sign size note for sign manufacturer. Sht 18: Suggest adding sign nomenclature for the beacon push-button instruction sign. Please do email me at Matthew.Geweke@tucsonaz.gov with a PDF of redlines and the corrected Shts with the revisions of these requested changes so we can expedite the Traffic Eng. acceptance/approval of these plans. I can also be reached at 791-4259 x76665 with any questions. Thanks |
