09/24/2013 | GARY WITTWER | DOT LANDSCAPE | REVIEW | Approv-Cond | Just 2 minor things: I am checking with DSD to see if the NPPO plan has been approved, and I assume that the median island at the entrance off Valencia will not be Landscaped. If it is to be landscaped I will need to see the plans. |
09/25/2013 | JOSE ORTIZ | DOT TRAFFIC | REVIEW | Denied | Plans: i-2013-017 ACTIVITY NUMBER: T13PI00016 PROJECT NAME: Valencia Crossing Infrastructure PROJECT ADDRESS: Benson Hwy PROJECT REVIEWER: Matthew Geweke, Traffic Eng Tech Resubmittal Required: Traffic Engineering does not recommend approval of the PIA Plan; therefore a revised PIA Plan is required for re-submittal. The following items must be revised or added to the plan. Please include a response letter with the next submittal that states how all comments have been addressed and resubmit the original redline set of plans for back checking purposes. 1. See redlines on the submitted drawing Shts 6 & 7 to address these redline comments. (A) Sht 6: please add a "NP" sign above the centered "end of road marker" and add a direct bury post with "Dead End" sign. (B) Sht 7: for W-bound; the W6-2 is not necessary however the "Dead End" assembly is important. (C) Sht 7: for E-bound; the median "Keep Rt" is optional and the 2x SPR03 is important motorist information. If the intersection signals are not installed/activated, then 2x temporary STOP signs (36x36) will need to be installed - direct bury square tube post okay to use. (D) Sht 7: there is a lane drop approach to intersection, please use TDOT Striping Standard 4-13.2 to achieve a smooth transition. (see attached with yellow highlights) (E) Sht 9: if possible please add Signing Standard 8-2a to notes. (see attached) If you wish to email me at Matthew.Geweke@tucsonaz.gov the PDF of redline and corrected Shts 6 & 7 with the revisions of these requested changes, we could expedite the Traffic Eng. Acceptance/approval of these plans. I can also be reached at 791-4259 x76665 with any questions. Thanks! Matthew Geweke |
10/21/2013 | LANCE PETERSON | DOT STREET MAINTENANCE | REVIEW | Denied | We have reviewed this plan and have the following comments: 1. Sheet 2 - Is there a channel or proposed grading at the end of the cul de sac to convey runoff to the channel in Common Area A? 2. Sheet 3 - The plan view call out a detail L/9 but I did not find this detail. No further comments. Lance Peterson, P.E. Streets and Traffic Maintenance 520-837-6777 |

10/28/2013 | RICHARD LEIGH | DOT ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Denied | December 12, 2013 SUBJECT: Valencia Crossing PROJECT REVIEWER: Richard Leigh, DOT, Permits and Codes Section RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: Permits and Codes Section has reviewed the PIA Plan and does not recommend approval at this time. The following comments need to be addressed prior to in the subsequent review submittal. Please return redlined drawings with next submittal. 1. Include the plan number "I-2013-017" in the title block of each sheet. 2. Include Development Services Department PIA activity number "T13PI00016"on cover sheet. 3. Sheet 1: Revise general paving notes and title block as noted on red line drawings. 4. Sheet 2: Provide a turnaround at the end of Valencia Crossing Drive in accordance with UDC Technical Manual Sec. 10-01.6.2.C.1 and 10-01.6.2.C.1. 5. Sheet 2: Clearly show how concentrated flows will be discharged from the proposed cul-de-sac. Provide details of any erosion protection. 6. Has the City Development Review Committee approved the elimination of the pedestrian circulation path requirement per UDC Technical Manual Sec. 10-01.3.3 along the west side of Valencia Crossing Drive? If not, sidewalk will need to be provided along this section. 7. Have the improvements at the intersection of Valencia Rd and Valencia Crossing Drive been coordinated with Pima County DOT? Please provide a copy of the corresponding plan sheets, of the Valencia Road Widening project, of this area for our review. 8. Sheet 8: Detail D: Revise detail to correspond with a recommended pavement section per the pavement section design for Valencia Crossing Spine Road by Pattison Evanoff Engineering, LLC, Project. No. 13-129. 9. Sheet 9: Concrete Backfill detail: In order to mitigate the concrete bridging structure from reflecting through the asphalt, it would be preferred to have the concrete backfill placed to the finished grade of the roadway. A concrete grate structure across the roadway will also be an acceptable solution for the minimal cover over the pipe. 10. Address comments on redline plan set. Responses may be noted on redline drawings. Please Refer to redline plans for additional comments and comment details. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 837-6647 or Richard.Leigh@tucsonaz.gov |
