The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2012 International Residential Code with local amendments. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide two complete sets of revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval. STRUCTURAL / FRAMING PLAN: 1. Designate the location of braced wall lines and braced wall panels, R602.10.2.2. ELEVATIONS: 2. Specify the manufacturer and type of asphalt roof shingles that meets the proposed design criteria for color as specified on sheet 4 and is approved for use in an unvented attic assembly. PLUMBING PLAN: 3. Provide an accurate design length for the gas piping according to the proposed demand, G2413.1, Table G2413.4 (1). MECHANICAL PLAN: 4. Justify the mechanical system size. The Manual S report does not appear to be within the standard design allowance. ELECTRICAL PLAN: 5. All meters shall be located on an exterior house or garage wall, but not under a carport, breezeway, patio, porch, or area that can be enclosed with building expansion, TEP SR-405. 6. Verify the new service panel will be located at least 3' from gas meter (as a sources of ignition). INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE: 7. Specify the solar heat gain coefficient of the windows. Tucson is in climate zone 2B. The simplified prescribed energy values for glazing and skylights is SHGC=0.25, N1102.1.
