This letter reflects comments to be addressed. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2012 International Residential Code with local amendments. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide two complete sets of revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval.

SITE PLAN:
1. Specify the location of all utility lines and service meters, R106.1.1.
2. Gas meters shall be located at least 3' from sources of ignition.

FLOOR PLAN:
3. Clarify keynote for exterior porch ceiling covering. Should keynote 10 or keynote 20 be used for this application?
4. Specify location on plan that keynotes 11-13 apply.
5. Complete keynote 19
6. Specify safety glazing in hazardous locations, R308.4. Less than 60" above and within 60" horizontally from tub/shower floors.

FOUNDATION PLAN:
7. Complete note #7 on foundation notes.
8. Define undistrubed fill -note #6
9. Correct mislabeled section detail references.
10. Specify finished floor height of front porch for no-step accessible entrance.

STRUCTURAL / FRAMING PLAN:
11. Clarify roof ventilation calculation by defining values.
12. Roof ventilation must incorporate 40-50% of proposed vents in the upper portion of attic space, R806.2.

ELEVATIONS:
13. Specify roof height above grade.
14. Clarify finished floor height above grade. Elevation drawing indicates 18 inches and foundation detail shows 8 inches.

SECTIONS - DETAILS:
15. Correct mislabeled detail references on section drawing A-A.

PLUMBING PLAN:
16. Provide a minimum ¾" gas supply for branch line to furnace appliance, G2413.1, Table G2413.4 (1).

MECHANICAL PLAN:
17. Mechanical layout does not match Manual D calculations, clarify.
18. Include furnace and air conditioner on mechanical equipment schedule on sheet 5.

ELECTRICAL PLAN:
19. Correct mislabeled air conditioning circuit reference.
20. Correct mislabeled mechanical room receptacle circuit reference.
21. Provide electrical receptacle to air handler unit.
22. Specify circuit references to lights and exhaust fans in bathrooms.
23. Use Table E3705.5.3 for sizing 15, 20 & 30 AMP branch circuit conductors. (20 amp breaker may not serve 14 awg wire)
24. Clarify 14 amp over current device.

OUTDOOR LIGHTING CODE
25. All exterior lighting must include full cut off fixtures to qualify for optional compliance method.

INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE:
26. Specify a "U" factor and solar heat gain coefficient of the windows and doors that meets or exceeds the requirements of N1102.1. The simplified prescribed energy value for climate zone 2B glazing is U=0.40 and skylights is U=0.65, the default SHGC is 0.25.
