Footnote b on Table 403.3 states that mechanical exhaust is required for the kitchen and no air from the kitchen may be recirculated to any other space. RTU-3 appears to be recirculating air from the kitchen to the public restrooms. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (3), IMC 2012.
2. Clarify the reason for interlocking the restroom fan, EF-2 with RTU-4 instead of RTU-3. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012.
3. The minimum required ventilation air consists of the sum of the required ventilation rate for the zone area and the ventilation rate for the people occupying the zone. Correct the ventilation calculation for the dining area. Reference: Section 403.3, IMC 2012.
4. Provide justification for the use of a Zone Air Distribution Effectiveness (Ev) of 1.0 for a ceiling supply, ceiling return using a gas-fired furnace. Reference: Section 403.3.1.2, IMC 2012.
5. Clarify keynote 7 on sheet M1.0: is RTU-5 from a different project?
6. Clarify the note on sheet M2.0 that calls for a special inspection of the kitchen exhaust duct. The mechanical inspector will inspect the installation of the entire kitchen hood system, no special inspector is required. Note that Section 506.3.10, IMC 2012 covers underground grease duct installation and there is no Section 606.6 in the 2012 IMC.
7. Clarify how the plan section of the grease duct detail complies with the installation instructions from the manufacturer of the fire barrier duct wrap. Reference: Section 506.3.11.2, IMC 2012.
8. Provide structural calculations and details to show that the Type I hood is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2012 (the hood hanging weight plus the weight of personnel working in or on the hood). Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012.
9. The "Additional Efficiency Package Requirements" noted in COMcheck (C406, IECC 2012) is not applicable to tenant improvements, only to new construction. Reference: Section C401.2.1, IECC 2012.
