10/11/2013 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum of 3/32-inch. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
2. Provide natural gas pipe sizing calculations. Include the developed pipe lengths from the gas meter to each gas load on the plans. Reference: Section 402.3, IFGC 2012.
3. Clarify the water connection to the vacuum pump. All directly-connected appliances shall be protected against backflow; specify the device to be used for the vacuum pump. Reference: Section 608.15, IPC 2012.
4. Provide an air gap discharge for the non-potable waste from the vacuum pump. Reference: Section 802.1.5, IPC 2012.
10/11/2013 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum height of 3/32-inch. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
2. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2012 as amended by the City of Tucson.
3. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation using the method shown in Section 403.3.2.3, IMC 2012 for multi-zone recirculating systems. (Note that ASHRAE 62.1 is not referenced in the 2012 IMC except as a means for determining the system ventilation efficiency.) Revise the occupancy classifications as required to accurately describe the activities occurring in each room (e.g. a lab, a waiting room, or a treatment room is not an office). Each multi-zone system (e.g. RTAC-1, RTAC-2, and RTAC-3) shall be individually calculated and the minimum outside air intake for each unit included with the balancing data. Show how each occupied space is receiving ventilation. Reference: Section 403.2, IMC 2012.
4. Revise the mechanical design as required to avoid using the hallways as return air ducts. Reference: Section 601.2, IMC 2012.
5. The portion of the building shell being modified in this activity does not appear to have been conditioned. Section C101.4.5, IECC 2012 requires the space to be brought into full compliance with the current energy code. Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections C103.2 and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
6. The minimum seasonal energy efficiency rating (SEER) for each air conditioning unit shall comply with the requirements of Table C403.2.3, IECC 2012 (not the "Min. Code" entry in the rooftop air conditioning schedule). Reference: Section C403.2.3, IECC 2012.
7. Clarify how excess outside air relief from the building is to be accomplished during economizer operation. Reference: Section C403.3.1.1.4, IECC 2012.
