08/05/2013 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Clarify the plumbing code to be used for this activity. The Plumbing General Notes on sheet P-1 refers to the 2006 UPC but the Building Code data on sheet TS101 refers to both the 2012 IPC and the 2012 UPC. The plumbing review has been made using the 2012 IPC and the 2012 IFGC. (The 2012 International Plumbing Code has been adopted by the City of Tucson. The use of the 2012 Uniform Plumbing Code is allowed provided an appeal to the building official is filed. There is no charge for this appeal.) 2. Provide water isometrics and waste and vent isometrics for the new work. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 3. Show the developed pipe length from the meter to each gas load on plans. Reference: Section 402.3, IFGC 2012. 4. Clarify the note on sheet P-0 that states, "Install shutoff valve and PRV to reduce gas pressure to 7" W.C. for (E) WH-5 and [blank]." 5. Show that the proposed location of the reduced pressure backflow preventer (Detail 17/P-2) is easily accessible and conforms to the manufacturer's installation recommendations. Reference: Section 608.14, IPC 2012. 6. An approved 2-way cleanout fitting is a single fitting, not a field-assembled group of individual fittings. The 2-way cleanout shown for the grease waste at the building exit has a 6" pipe downstream and a 4" pipe upstream. What size is the 2-way cleanout? Reference: Sections 708.3.5 and 708.5, IPC 2012. 7. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each food-handling fixture to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Section 801.2, IPC 2012. 8. Indirect waste piping that has a developed length greater than 30-inches (30") when measured horizontally or greater than 54-inches (54") in total developed length shall be trapped. Exception: indirect waste piping conveying only clear-water waste (e.g. effluent from a sanitizing compartment) does not require a trap. Reference: Section 802.2, IPC 2012. 9. A note on sheet P-1 calls for the vents to run, "low in the wall." Verify that all of the vents rise vertically to at least 6" above the highest flood rim of the fixtures they protect prior to connecting or running horizontally. Reference: Sections 905.4 and 905.5, IPC 2012. 10. Provide sizing calculations for the gravity grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. |
08/05/2013 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. The relevant codes for this project are the 2012 International Building Code, the 2012 International Mechanical Code, the 2012 International Fuel Gas Code, the 2012 International Plumbing Code, and the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code, all with Local Amendments. 2. Verify that the controls for the new HVAC units (AC-23 and AC-24) have been provided with controls that comply with Section C403.2.4, IECC 2012. 3. Provide the installed weight of the pizza oven hood. Reference: Sections 302.1 and 507.6, IMC 2012. |
