Verify that the water distribution system can provide the flow pressure prescribed by the fixture or appliance manufacturer, which ever is greater. Reference: Section 604.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. 2. Appliances (e.g. soda dispensers, ice makers, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2012. 3. An approved 2-way cleanout fitting is allowed to be used at the junction of a building drain and a building sewer; otherwise, cleanouts shall open to allow cleaning in the direction of flow. Reference: Sections 708.3.5 and 708.5, IPC 2012. 4. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.8, IPC 2012. 5. Verify that all of the vents (indoors) rise vertically to at least 6" above the flood rims of the fixtures they protect prior to running horizontally. Reference: Section 905.4, IPC 2012. |

Condensate drains may not terminate over a roof drain unless the roof drain itself terminates at or above grade in an area capable of absorbing the condensate flow without surface drainage. Revise the structural calculations Type II hood to account for the actual hood weight and the weight of a person cleaning the hood. The structural drawings show a hood weight of 400 pounds and the specified hood has a weight of 315 pounds which will severely limit the size of the employees cleaning the hood. In addition, the shop drawings are proposing a hood that weighs 572 pounds. Reference: Section 507.6, IMC 2006. |
