06/14/2013 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Comment not addressed; provide exhaust for each compartment containing a water closet or urinal per Section 403.3, IMC 2012. [Initial comment: Clarify how all water closet compartments are to be exhausted. EF-1 and EF-2 are placed in toilet compartments enclosed by full height walls with full size doors per architectural pages.]
2. Revise the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted with no more than 10% of the exhausted air being recirculated (i.e. the exhaust fans shall be running whenever air is being supplied to the rooms, even if the lights are not on). Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012. [Initial comment: Provide sequence of operation with AHU-3 and EF-1, EF-2 for non-recirculation of air (IMC 403.2.1). Mechanical notes call for electrician interlock, but electrical sheets have EF's connected to occupancy sensor.]
3. Comment not addressed. [Initial comment: Please check off appropriate boxes for review of IECC compliance certificate.]
06/14/2013 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. The water distribution design criteria require that the outlets serving flushometer valves for siphonic water closets are capable of delivering 25 GPM. At 25 GPM the water velocity in a 1" type L copper tube is approximately 9.7 feet per second; the maximum velocity for copper tubing is 8 FPS. Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2012. [Initial comment: Fixture & connection schedule is calling for 1/2" supply to WC flushometers, please revise to 1".]
2. Based on a developed pipe length of 200 feet for each appliance, the main gas line and the branch serving the water heater are undersized. Provide the calculations used to determine the pipe sizes. [Initial comment: Provide developed lengths of gas lines. Rough scaling from plans indicates undersized supply line just downstream of 1st GH-1.]
