04/22/2013 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Denied Clarify the water demand calculation; is the existing water distribution system primarily a tank system or a flush valve system? Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
04/22/2013 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide information to show that the installation of the air admittance valves for the wash fountains complies with the manufacturer's listing requirements. Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2012.
2. Show that the wash fountains will be supplied with a minimum water pressure of 20 PSI. Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2012.
3. Verify that the "Tempcontrol" mixing valve for the wash fountains complies with ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012.
4. Provide justification for the water fixture units used for the wash fountains. Each wash fountain delivers 5 GPM when the foot control rail is pressed and requires, at a minimum, 1" cold water and 1" hot water supplies. A wash fountain is not comparable to a lavatory operating at 0.5 GPM. Reference: Section 604.1, IPC 2012.
5. Clarify how the cleanouts shown for each wash fountain in detail 3/P2.1 are accessed and have adequate clearance for snaking. Reference: Sections 708.7 and 708.8, IPC 2012.
04/23/2013 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide the mechanical energy code compliance certification for the installation of the new mechanical equipment. Reference: Section C303.1, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
2. Provide structural calculations and connection details to verify that the ceiling grid and mezzanine framing are capable of supporting the filter fan units. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012
3. The equipment mezzanine appears to be built with a plywood deck; provide auxiliary drain pans or secondary drain systems for the fan coil units. Reference: Section 307.2.3 IMC 2012.
4. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation for all of the zones being modified using the current code. Zones that are not identified in Table 403.3 (e.g. the manufacturing areas) will require an engineering analysis of the occupancy of the area, the work being performed, and the contaminants in the air to determine the required ventilation rate. Reference: Section 403.2, IMC 2012.
5. Show how the design of the exhaust flow rate for the battery charging room complies with the requirements of Section 502.3, IMC 2012 to prevent the accumulation of flammable gases.
