This letter reflects comments to be addressed. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2012 International Residential Code with local amendments. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide two complete sets of revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval.

FLOOR PLAN:
1. Specify all door sizes.

STRUCTURAL PLAN:
2. Provide consistent information between structural calculations and post tension layout for turn down width of proposed slab.

PLUMBING PLAN:
3. All construction drawings submitted after March 1, 2009 for one- or two-family dwellings require a solar water heating system, or future installation preparation with one of the following provisions: control and ¾"water piping; 3" metallic sleeve; or an accessible attic over the water heater.

MECHANICAL PLAN:
4. Provide consistent information between Manual D calculations and mechanical plan layout.
5. Provide a complete Manual S calculation or extended manufacturer data for system performance.

ELECTRICAL PLAN:
6. Provide carbon monoxide alarms per R315.
7. Correct reference to the 2006 IRC in electrical notes.
8. Correct all mislabeled code references in electrical notes.
9. All outlets shall be protected with combination-type arc-fault breakers (receptacles, lights, and smoke detectors), E3902.12.
10. Specify faceplate grounding per E4001.11.1.
11. Specify tamper resistant receptacles per E4002.14.
12. On June 17, 2008, Mayor and Council unanimously voted to require all new residences to be solar ready for electric (PV). Starting July 1, 2009, all new single family homes or duplexes must include in the plans either a photovoltaic system or preparation for later installation of a PV system in order to receive a permit.

INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE:
13. Specify a solar heat gain coefficient of the windows and doors that meets or exceeds the requirements of N1102.1. The simplified prescribed energy value for climate zone 2B glazing is U=0.40 and skylights is U=0.65, the default SHGC is 0.25.
