This site is located in the R-1 zone (UDC 4.7.8). A single-family residence (SFR) is a permitted use in this zone (Table 4.8-2). See Use-Specific Standards 4.9.7.B.5 - 9. The maximum height of a wall or fence within a perimeter yard shall be six (6) feet (UDC Section 6.6.2.I). The maximum height of a retaining wall is ten (10) feet from design grade and no higher than six (6) feet measured from the top of the retaining portion of the wall (UDC Section 6.6.2.I.2). The wall height may exceed six (6) feet if: "At least 75% of the area above six feet in height is left unobstructed and open through the use of architectural elements, such as arches, columns, or wrought iron;" (UDC Section 6.6.2.I.1). The columns on the proposed wall are eight (8) feet, two (2) inches. A DDO is required for the maximum height of seven (7) feet, ten (10) inches for the solid proposed perimeter wall. |
