Roadway Reconstruction, Public Improvements, PIA T12PI0014 PROJECT REVIEWER: David Wostenberg/Richard Leigh, DOT, Permits and Codes Section RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: Permits and Codes Section has reviewed the PIA Plan and does not recommend approval of the PIA Plan at this time. The following comments need to be addressed in the next submittal. 1. Include the plan number "I-2012-012" in the title block of each sheet. 2. Include Development Services Department PIA activity number "T12PI00014"on cover sheet. 3. Address all redline comments including plan numbers. 4. Add note to general notes for the Design Speed and Posted Speed and Design Vehicle. 5. Provide an 8' wide graded shoulder with a ith a cross slope no greater than 2%. 6. Verify Existing and Proposed Manhole Elevations, as some do not appear to coincide with profiles (See Redlines). 7. Make sure valves or manholes are not located in curb line (vertical or header). 8. All longitudinal grades must be a minimum of +/- 0.50% See Dev. Std. 3-01.4.5. 9. All cross slopes shall be +/- 2.0% unless otherwise approved. See Dev. Std. 3-01.4.5. 10. All cross slopes shall be constant in conformance with the Typical Sections and the roadway shall not vary to match existing driveways. Driveways shall be rebuilt to match the new roadway to ensure a smooth rideable surface. 11. Provide vertical curves when the algebraic difference between the incoming and outgoing roadway grade is greater than 1 %. The minimum permitted length of a vertical curve is 100 feet. see Dev. Std. 3-01.5.B 12. Make sure all callouts in the profile are in their correct locations (See redline on sheet 4). 13. Floor slopes of all new catch basins shall be a minimum of 5.0% unless otherwise approved by TDOT Engineering. 14. Sheet 9 Proposed Elevations on Sears Bl. at Bilby Rd. appear to show a sag curve with a low point south of the existing catch basin. Please revise plans and limits of construction to ensure low points are at the catch basin. Refer to redline plans for additional comments and comment details.
