PROJECT REVIEWER: Richard Leigh, DOT, Permits and Codes Section Permits and Codes Section has reviewed the PIA plan set for the subject project and does not recommend approval of the PIA Plan at this time. The following comments need to be addressed in the next submittal. Please provide a written response to each comment and return red line drawings with re-submittal. 1. Include the plan number "U-2012-006" in title block of each sheet. 2. Include Development Services Department PIA activity number "T12PI00009" on cover sheet. 3. Change title in the title blocks of sheets 2 through 11 to be identical as sheet 1. Specific sheet details may be placed above title block. 4. Lighten line and hatching weights for all existing roadway infrastructure. 5. Provide a detail for transitioning from vertical to cub and gutter. Transition lengths shall be a minimum of five feet. 6. Provide pavement structural section detail for each type proposed pavement section. 7. Sheet 2: Show and label all existing utility infrastructure (poles, cabinets pull boxes, etc.) within the right-of-way and indicate as to their disposition if conflicting with proposed improvements 8. Sheet 2: Provide a detail or reference a standard detail of each type of curb access ramp proposed. 9. Sheet 2: Having parking meters located in the water harvesting/landscaping area may pose a hazard to pedestrians. Clearly show how ADA access will be provided to the meters the meters. 10. Sheet 2: Provide a cross section of the grate structure across the water harvesting area. The drop off from the grate structure may pose a hazard to pedestrians. 11. Sheet 3: A dry well is not a normally acceptable option within the public right-of-way due to the high maintenance required. Please investigate and peruse other options to the drainage problem. 12. Sheet 4: Indicate that the curb access ramp at the northwest corner of First St and Alley will be replaced per PC/COT SD 207. 13. Sheet 4: Will reconfiguration of the grades in the alley adversely impact the properties to the east. 14. Sheet 9: Indicate the brick pavers will be placed per Standard Specifications for Public Improvement Section 932 15. Sheet 9, Dtl 2 & 5: Provide grate details and indicate model and manufacturer. Grates need to be pedestrian safe 16. Sheet 9, Dtl. 2 & 5: Indicate grate anchoring specifications. Please refer to redline plans for additional comments and comment details.
