03/18/2016 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change Duct smoke detectors shall be located upstream of any filters or outside air connections. Reference: Section 606.2.1, IMC 2006.
03/18/2016 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Appliances (e.g. soda dispensers, ice makers, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2006.
2. At a minimum, beverage dispensers (e.g. coffee makers, etc.) require the use of a backflow preventer that is listed to ASSE 1022. Locate the proposed backflow preventers to be accessible for inspection and maintenance and where water leakage will not cause damage. Reference: Sections 608.14 and 608.16.10, IPC 2006.
3. Provide a vent to protect the grease trap from siphonage and back-pressure. Reference: Section 1003.9, IPC 2006.
4. A dishwasher may not discharge through a hydromechanical grease interceptor but it is required to discharge through a gravity grease interceptor. Contact the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department (Steven Valencia, 724-6209 or steven.valencia@pima.gov) to discuss which fixtures will be required to discharge through a grease interceptor. See also Section 1003.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
5. The proposed hydromechanical grease interceptor requires the installation of a vented, external flow control device. Install the flow control device per the manufacturer's instructions in an accessible location. Reference: Section 1003.3.5, IPC 2006.
