| 12/14/2012 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Restrooms 122 and 124 have hot (tempered?) water supplied to the lavatories; what is the source of the hot water? Reference: Section 607.2, IPC 2006. 2. Verify that the indirect waste pipe from P34 is trapped. Reference: Section 802.2, IPC 2006. 3. All dry vents located within the building (e.g. the kitchen, room 118: the southern combination drain and vent system and the portion of the vent for the grease interceptor) shall rise vertically at least 6-inches above the flood level rim of the highest fixture being vented prior to offsetting horizontally. Reference: Section 905.4, IPC 2006. 4. Detail 6/P3.1 calls for the water heater support to be mounted in an "approved manner"; provide structural details describing how the support is to be attached to the building structure. 5. Show that the combination drain and vent systems in room 118 are adequately vented (i.e. do the vent sizes comply with Table 912.3, IPC 2006). Reference: section 912.2.3, IPC 2006. 6. Section 607.1, IPC 2006 requires all nonresidential fixtures used for cleansing to be provided with hot water. What is the purpose of the classroom sinks? 7. Provide a trap seal primer valve for the floor drains located in rooms 612 and 614. Reference: Section 1002.4, IPC 2006. 9. Keynote 8 on sheet C3.0 calls for a backwater valve for building 6. Provide the first floor elevations of the other buildings and the rim elevation of the next upstream manhole in the public sewer. Reference: Section 715.1, IPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. |

| 12/17/2012 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans, EF-1 through EF-4 and EF-7 through EF-15. Verify that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2006. 2. Section 507.2.2, IMC 2006, exception 3, allows the installation of a "single light-duty electric convection, bread, retherm, or microwave oven" without the requirement of installing a Type II hood. The food service drawings indicate that the cook line has two steamers (6.0kW each), two "cook & hold" ovens (5.0 kW each), and a thermalizer cabinet (7.0 kW). Provide justification for not installing a type II hood over all of these appliances and show that the air conditioning system can accommodate the heat generated by them. 3. Detail 3/P3.1 indicates that no condensate trap will be provided for the ductless air conditioners. Provide information from the manufacturer that shows that this is an approved installation method. Reference: Section 307.2.4, IMC 2006. 4. Clarify how the return air for AC-10 will be balanced. |
